This is straightforward but it is important to follow the procedure:

1. Edit the comp you want to start working on.
2. Add your username using the autocomplete user reference field.
3. Change the status to "Port in Progress".
4. Save the node before leaving the edit page.

Then you should contact the designer and introduce yourself, share contact details and make arrangements for the delivery of the PSD files. Themers should pass on their test site URL and we suggest making a user account for the designer so they can log in.

When you have completed porting the design, please go back and set the status to Completed.

As a themer you have a lot of responsibility in this site - you can edit any design comp so please wield that power with caution.
