Like any other project we strongly advise that both themer and designer agree to a delivery schedule. The schedule should include at minimum the project milestones for both contributions.
We suggest breaking down the project into logical milestones and setting hard dates for the completion of each milestone.
A milestone should represent a logical end point in a series of tasks.
For example designers could have these milestones:
* A completed front page/node/internal page comp.
* Competed fonts and headers style guide.
* Completion of revised or additional graphic design work.
Themers can likewise break down development:
* Layout and regions completed.
* Front page completed.
* Slide-show integration completed.
* Forum styles completed.
While you may not want to break down the milestones to this extent the opposite should be avoided also, where the milestones are two far apart and/or require too many dependencies.
Themer and designer need to communicate so each phase is well planned and executed.
AdaptiveThemes is currently considering purchasing a pro Basecamp account and managing all projects internally where we will act as project managers and facilitate the agreements and schedules on a case by case basis.
